On August 3, over 20,000 State employees between Group 1 and Group 2: received their pay through the new system with ACH direct deposit; transitioned to a new format for pay statements; and gained access to view pay statements online. Governor Ige stopped by the HawaiiPay office on August 10. He had the chance to visit with Group 3 Dept. of Education Payroll and HR staff going through parallel testing as well as chat with the HIP Service Center representatives, the HawaiiPay staff, and project consultants from CherryRoad Technologies Inc.
“This effort was successfully executed by a united, highly-engaged state workforce that stepped forward to implement our vision of a modernized payroll system,” said Gov. David Ige. “The system transforms the way the state and its employees conduct business – creating a more efficient and effective government for state taxpayers.”
