Group 1 HR, Payroll & Administrative Staff – You Made it Happen!

A letter from the Program Manager

On behalf of the HawaiiPay team, I would like to extend a huge MAHALO! You have been extraordinary through the whole process by providing input, testing the new payroll system, learning a new system quickly, and then implementing it for payroll.

With your help and cooperation, we have succeeded in transitioning to the electronic system and distributing payroll on May 4 by ACH direct deposit to the first set of employees in the Department of Accounting & General Services (DAGS) and the Department of Human Resources Development (DHRD).

We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules to participate in the testing phases from running through the different processes in the new system to actually inputting payroll information during parallel testing cycles. These tests were vital to make sure everything worked the way it should, and payroll was calculated accurately.

You implemented the new system and processed payroll for the May 4 paycheck in record time! Because of the go-live schedule, you had only three days to process the first payroll instead of the normal five days for all other payrolls. You were all outstanding and processed it in less than two days, some groups in less than one.

Your dedication and attention to detail, have significantly contributed to reaching this first major milestone. Thank you for all you time, effort, and commitment.

Mahalo,

Leila Kagawa
