Use the HIP system to run predefined reports and queries to answer simple questions, perform calculations and general audits of time for your employees.
A report is auto-generated and “static” in format and parameters, meaning the user running the report cannot modify the criteria. Once payroll is completed in the HIP system, payroll users can access reports that were previously accessed through Datamart. These include the Payroll Expenditure Report, Employers-Share Contribution Assessment Report, Payroll Expenditure Distribution Report, and Payroll Register. Ensure you run the following reports on or after the applicable pay date.
For a guide on how to access these reports, click the following link for a PDF version of mandatory training and reference page 68: 110 Agency Payroll – PCS (Non-T&L Deployed Departments)
Queries are run by users when needed, have flexibility in formatting, and are considered “dynamic” because the user can select or define certain criteria and parameters. Click the following link for an example of how to run a query displaying employees not enrolled in direct deposit.
To request a query be built, submit a HIP ticket at hipservice.hawaii.gov.
