Campaign Spending Commission

The Commission would like to inform you of the following campaign finance bill which was passed during the 2016 legislative session and signed into law:

1.  Act 247, SLH 2016 (H.B. No. 2156 H.D. 2 S.D. 2 C.D. 1)

Governor David Ige signed H.B. 2156 H.D. 2 S.D. 2 C.D. 1 into law as Act 234 on July 12, 2016. Act 234, effective upon approval, amends HRS §11-381(a)(8) to include expenses incurred for memberships in civic or community groups as ordinary and necessary expenses of a holder of office.
