View a visual chart representing the internal structure of the State. It highlights how departments and personnel are organized as well as their reporting relationships. Use this information to help find out how departments are arranged and understand the chain of command from transactional business process flows to approval flows for employee requests (absences or payable time).
Effective March 16th, 2020, Hawaii Organization IDs will be supplemented with Department IDs. Prior to this change, all Department IDs were agency wide, now they are broken down by HR Organizational unit. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

– Previously DHRD would process changes to organization structure. Going forward the Enterprise Services Branch of ETS will be transacting Department and Organization changes. Please use the ETS-306 Form “Hawaii Information Portal Department Modification Request” to submit any modifications to Department or Organization IDs.
