Changes to Payroll Register Interface Files

If your department/jurisdiction currently receives an interface file from the legacy mainframe system with a payroll register, please note certain changes will be occurring in the file layout when your department/jurisdiction deploys the Hawaii Information Portal (HIP).  These changes to the outbound files are timed with your department’s deployment.

  1. UAC Code will go from 23 characters in the legacy system to 27 characters in HIP.
  2. Earnings Codes will go from 1 character in the legacy system to 3 characters in HIP.
  3. Retirement Code will go from 1 character in the legacy system to 2 characters in HIP.
  4. FICA Code will go from 1 character in the legacy system to 2 characters in HIP.
  5. Type Code (2) + Agent Code (3) will be moving from the 2 + 3 characters in the legacy system to 5 or 6 characters (total) in HIP, depending on translation.

Please note that the Year-To-Date balances that are listed on the payroll register will include the balances for all positions the employee may have.
