With the end of FY 2026, it is time for all Hawaii State and county agencies to start a new UIPA Record Request Log for FY 2027.  The Office of Information Practices (OIP) would like to remind agencies to close out their FY 2026 Log and start a new FY 2027 Log for record requests received from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

Agencies can continue to complete and log requests received from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, on their FY 2026 Log until they submit their logs to the agency’s Log Coordinator.  This gives agencies extra time to complete requests received through June 30, 2026, and account for it on their FY 2026 Log.  Please review OIP’s log instructions worksheet where you’ll find Frequently Asked Questions and instructions on how to fill out the log: https://ags.hawaii.gov/oip/files/2024/07/INSTRUCTIONS-TO-COMPLETE-UIPA-RECORD-REQUEST-LOG-July-2024.pdf

By July 31, 2026, however, agencies must submit to OIP, through their Log Coordinator, their FY 2026 UIPA Record Request Logs and FY 2026 Checklist.  Forms, instructions, and other training materials are available on the UIPA Record Request Log Training page at ags.hawaii.gov/oip/.  Please send your completed log reports, checklists and any log related questions to[email protected].
