Motor Vehicle Registration Information
Access to motor vehicle registration information must be determined by rules adopted by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and not by the provisions of the UIPA. This UIPA requires the disclosure of motor vehicle registration information provided the requester has a legitimate reason as determined by rules. The OIP concluded that such rules are those adopted by the DOT.
