Welfare Records of Deceased Individuals
The welfare records of deceased individuals may not be made available for public inspection and copying under the UIPA. While an individual’s death ordinarily extinguishes any privacy interest the individual may have had, section 346-10, Hawaii Revised Statutes, specifically restricts the disclosure of the records and applications of any recipient of public assistance.
