At the date of your lease Kalanimoku had not the direction of this kingdom but Kaahumanu. She was above Kalanimoku, wherefore he could not transfer any land for a long time without consent of Kalanimoku. Furthermore that land did not belong to Kalanimoku...and the land is in the hands of Kaahumanu’s heirs.
