HSPLS In-Person Digital Literacy Classes

The Hawaiʻi State Public Library System offers FREE in-person digital literacy classes to help you get started. Learn essential skills like computer basics, accessing the internet, sending emails, etc.

HSPLS Gale Courses

Available through the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System, Gale Courses offers a wide range of free, virtual, instructor-led classes for library card holders in good standing.

The following resources are available to support skill-building in core areas such as:

  • Accounting Fundamentals: Learn the basics of double-entry bookkeeping, as well as how to analyze and record financial transactions. Participants will gain hands-on experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll procedures, sales taxes, and various common banking activities.
  • Basic Accounting Software: Learn how to use various accounting software tools, including Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and QuickBooks Online.
  • Computer Skills for the Workplace: Participants will develop fundamental computer competencies and practical skills in common office software, enabling them to work efficiently and appreciate why technological literacy is critical to organizational success.
