Public Archives of Hawaiʻi Remains Closed
Posted on Sep 9, 2020 in HSA NewsDue to the extension of the “Stay At Home / Work From Home” order, the Public Research Room at the Public Archives of Hawaiʻi will remain closed to the public until further notice. During this extension, the ʻIolani Palace grounds will also be closed to the public thus affecting our ability to provide services to our patrons. The mandates of the extended order by the Mayor of Honolulu and approved by the Governor, are to keep our communities, friends, families and staff safe during this global pandemic.
With this extension, services and requests will be delayed as staff will not have access to the collections held at the State Archives. However we will try to work on your requests and answer reference inquiries to the best of our abilities with what is available to our staff during this Stay At Home / Work From Home order. We will continue to work on making more digital content available online to offer as much assistance as we can for remote access, however we will still be limited by the resources we currently have and so services may be interrupted/delayed without notice. Therefore we ask for your patience and understanding.
Please email us at: [email protected] if you have any questions and please continue to check our website periodically for the latest announcements. We look forward to serving you again in the very near future, but more importantly we hope you and your ʻohana remain safe during these challenging times.
