Candidates Running in the 2014 Election
The next report due for Candidates running in the 2014 election and on the General Election Ballot is the Preliminary General Report covering the period January 1 or August 10, 2014 through October 20, 2014. The report must be filed on the Candidate Filing System no later than 11:59 p.m. Hawaiian Standard Time on Monday, October 27, 2014.
The Preliminary General Report for candidates that did not appear on the Primary Election Ballot should cover the period January 1 through October 20, 2014, and the period for candidates that did appear on the Primary Election Ballot and will appear on the General Election Ballot should cover the period August 10 through October 20, 2014. Candidates who appeared on the Primary Election Ballot that were unsuccessful in that election but still have a surplus or deficit are not required to file the Preliminary General Report. The next report for these candidates is the Final Election Period Report covering the period August 10 through November 4, 2014 and due no later than Thursday, December 4, 2014.
The fine for not filing the Preliminary General Report by the due date, if assessed, shall not exceed $300 per day; provided that in aggregate, the fine shall not exceed twenty-five per cent of the total amount of contributions or expenditures, whichever is greater, for the period covered by the report; and the minimum fine, if assessed, shall be $300.
