State of Hawaii’s Payroll Modernization EffortPosted on May 10, 2018 in Main
The State of Hawaii’s payroll modernization effort reached a major milestone when the first group of State employees was paid on May 4 through a new computer-based software system. Employees from the Department of Accounting and General Services (DAGS) and the Department of Human Resources Development (DHRD) were the first of three groups to receive paychecks through the new system, which replaces an over 50-year-old paper and manually-based process that has limited capability to distribute pay to banks and credit unions. Employees from other departments, agencies, and jurisdictions will transition to the modernized system in the coming months.
