Public Archives of Hawaiʻi is CLOSED AGAIN

Posted on Aug 25, 2020 in HSA News

Due to the new Stay at Home order that is to take place this Thursday on August 27, 2020, the Public Research Room at the Public Archives of Hawaiʻi will be closed to the public until further notice. We apologize for this very short notice but please note this closure is due to the mandate set by the Governor and Mayor of Honolulu, but more importantly it is to keep our communities, friends, families and staff safe during this global pandemic.

With this new order in place, services and requests will be delayed as staff will not have access to the collections held at the State Archives. However we will try to work on your requests and answer reference inquiries to the best of our abilities with what is available to our staff during this Stay at Home order. We will continue to work on making more digital content available online to offer as much assistance as we can for remote access, however we will still be limited by the resources we currently have and so services may be interrupted/delayed without notice. Therefore we ask for your patience and understanding. Please email us at [email protected].

Please check our website periodically for the latest announcements, but most importantly please stay informed and safe. We look forward to serving you again in the very near future.
